University League Tables
Loughborough is consistently placed in the top 15 of all UK Universities in national league tables, cementing its status as one of the country’s pre-eminent higher education institutions.
In the Guardian University Guide 2009, Loughborough was ranked tenth out of 117 institutions in the overall table, making it the top university in the East Midlands.
Loughborough retained its 12th place ranking in the 2009 Times Good University Guide, a clear demonstration of the consistent excellence in the quality of education on offer.
In the Times' individual subject tables, the University is rated number one in Building, Sport, and Librarianship and Information Management and is ranked in the top ten in 15 other subject tables.
The Times Good University Guide is based upon eight measures of quality – student satisfaction, research quality, entry standards, student/staff ratio, services and facilities spend, completion rates, degree classifications and graduate prospects. This is the seventh consecutive year that Loughborough University has been ranked in the Times top 15.
In the 2009 Complete University Guide, Loughborough was ranked joint second for student satisfaction and was placed 13th overall. In the individual subject tables the University was ranked in the top ten in 14 subjects.
For the past two years, Loughborough has been voted the UK's 'Best Student Experience' in the prestigious Times Higher Awards; rated top five for three years running in the National Student Survey and has received an unbeaten six Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education.
